The Portion Balance Coalition is a multi-sector collaboration of industry, nonprofit, academic, and government leaders working together to promote food portion strategies that support balanced, healthy, and sustainable lifestyles for all. Business for Impact hosts and convenes the Portion Balance Coalition (PBC) at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. By prioritizing public health and encouraging sustainable lifestyles, the PBC aims to create impactful solutions that benefit individuals, communities, and the planet.

Leadership Solutions for Health + Prosperity

The Leadership Solutions for Health & Prosperity program brings together diverse leaders to address critical public health issues like food insecurity, chronic diseases, and food system disruptions, with a focus on actionable, real-world solutions. Led by Hank Cardello, the program uses forums, research, and thought leadership to generate practical strategies for improving public health and the food industry.

Business for Impact partnered with the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to host a day-long convening and strategy session at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business to confront the pressing crisis of healthcare provider shortages in the United States. This convening brought together over 100 in-person participants, representing a diverse array of stakeholders from U.S. healthcare businesses, provider associations, advocacy nonprofits, educational institutions, health systems, and the Georgetown community.

Business for Impact’s advanced management education programs – New Strategies and New Strategies Rising – focus on revenue generation for nonprofit executives. Corporations and foundations support the program because it helps nonprofits broaden their revenue base to maximize their potential for generating new revenue, ensure they are not dependent on a limited number of funding sources, and enable them to extract the most value from revenues received.

Unilever SheaMoisture Trailblazers

The Trailblazer’s program provides collaboration, networking, and business school support to small business owners in partnership with SheaMoisture, The Gathering Spot, and Georgetown University’s Business for Impact.

Trailblazers 2024 supported diverse leaders in redefining business innovation. The 2024 Unilever SheaMoisture Trailblazers – CEOs from New York City growth stage businesses – joined us for a week of fellowship and intensive business education at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. This program supports under-resourced small business owners with dedicated programming, collaboration, networking, and business school resources. Through 10 targeted workshops and connections with 50+ industry experts, the program empowered underrepresented voices, fostering inclusive leadership and advancing equity in business practices.

Small Business Corps Sponsorships

The Small Business Corps (SBC) offers on-site, customized pro-bono consultancy services to small businesses in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area across various business areas: strategy, finance, sales and marketing, operations, logistics, and human resources.

Through the generous financial support of our founding partners, Bank of America and PNC, Georgetown business students are delivering innovative solutions and driving meaningful change within our small business community.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) provides invaluable technical consulting and coaching to our student Fellows, enriching their project experiences with industry-leading expertise and strategic insights.
