KABOOM!, the national nonprofit that works to achieve playspace equity, announced today that they have appointed three new members to the organization’s board of directors.
These leaders bring additional expertise and support to the ambitious KABOOM! agenda to address the disparities that exist in access to safe places to play for communities facing disinvestment across the country. The new members will add their backgrounds and expertise to a board of directors with strong leadership across a diverse set of sectors – corporate leadership and philanthropy, urban planning, development and housing, technology, and non-profit innovation and management.
They welcome Ladan Manteghi, Senior Advisor at Georgetown University’s Business for Impact Initiative and leader of Manteghi Global, a private consulting practice, to the board. Her experience spans start-up and well-established organizations with particular focus in corporate responsibility, economic development, cross-sector partnerships, social enterprise, politics and advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and nonprofit earned income models. Ladan’s prior executive roles include Global Director for Partner Networks at Social Progress Imperative, AARP Senior Vice President of International Affairs and President of the AARP Global Network, and served as a political appointee in the Clinton-Gore administration. Ladan is a champion of social good with business results and focuses on driving social and economic bottom lines to guide her career in the private, public, philanthropic and nonprofit sectors.
“Each new member brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and passion for our mission to ensure that every kid and community has access to quality playspaces. I am confident that their leadership will help guide KABOOM! to address the disparities that will end playspace inequity for good” said James Siegal, CEO of KABOOM!.
About KABOOM!
KABOOM! is the national non-profit that works to achieve playspace equity. Kids who don’t have access to play miss out on childhood and are denied critical opportunities to build physical, social and emotional health. And all too often, it more deeply affects communities of color. So we amplify the power of communities to build inspiring playspaces that spark unlimited opportunities for every kid, everywhere. KABOOM! has teamed up with partners to build or improve 17,000+ playspaces, engage more than 1.5 million community members and bring joy to more than 11 million kids.
